The piezometers are widely used in civil engineering and in foundation engineering, mainly for survey of piezometric height of water bearing stratum, or more for the measurement of pore pressure in satured soils.

The tools and the techniques used differ from each other depending on the characteristic of soil, in which are installed. In particolar are distinguished:
